About Me

About Mason

After Hurricane Harvey took almost everything from me, I spent years rebuilding — not just my life, but my voice.

I fought through depression, financial hell, and personal loss to come back to what I know best: telling true stories with grit, clarity, and heart.

My journalism and editorial work has appeared in VogueThe Houston ChronicleGalveston Daily NewsSpiceworks, and beyond. Along the way, I’ve profiled everyday heroes, explored culture, and captured the small human moments that shape bigger events.

I’m not starting over.
I’m picking up where I left off — sharper, tougher, and more committed to the craft than ever.

]n addition to my journalism work, I’m the co-founder and Executive Director of the One Small Step Community Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.

In 2021, I also took up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at 46 years old — a daily reminder that it’s never too late to fight for yourself.
